11/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Zisi’s previous owner reports she would show aggression towards some people. She has never spent time with children or other animals, but would play with some adults in a gentle manner. She has attacked someone about a month ago, going after their shoes. She was described as a playful and shy cat, with a medium activity level. She usually follows the owner around at home. Reaction to assessor: Zisi was by the front, eating food upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Zisi does not respond and continues to eat. Reaction to cage door opening: Zisi looks at the assessor and remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Zisi accepts petting and arches her back. She leans in for cheek rubs and continues to eat as the assessor pets her along her head and body. Reaction to being picked up: Zisi was slightly tense during pick up, but remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Average Zisi interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Zisi was reported to be living in a restaurant and would occasionally attack people’s shoes. Please be aware the owner did not provide her with any toys, so that may have contributed the reported behavior. She has been displaying signs appropriate for cat parents with an average amount of experience, but we recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise to help drain her energy and prevent unwanted behaviors.
