OK, and how many of our relatives live or visit every day in the same home? OK didn’t think so. However, this person has dumped ZEUS and now this handsome head-butting house panther will die! ZEUS is AVERAGE rated and was easy to handle and showed that he is a wonderful pet! ZEUS deserves a home, not a lethal injection and you have only til NOON TUESDAY to reserve him online or apply to a New Hope rescue to save him. I am a neutered male black domestic sh. The shelter thinks I am about 4 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 07/10/2016 from NY 11206, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES.

07/25/2016 Exam Type CAGE EXAM – Medical Rating is 3 C – MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is AVERAGE, Weight 11.6 LBS.
07/25/16 15:59 eating wet food 7/23/16 S/O: vet check requested for vomit/appetite unilateral mucoid d/c from nares hissed, in back of cage behind litterbox minimal appetite reported this AM, but drinking water no reports of V A: URI h/o V- none currently reported dec appetite- r/o secondary to brewing URI, other P: move to iso doxycyline 1.0ml PO SID x10days mirtazipine 15mg: 1/4 T PO once today then again in 3 days prognosis: good if responds to treatment for URI. Suspect that vomit and dec appetite could be related to URI, therefore should improve as p is treated. 7/22/16 S/O: vet check (requested for 7/19/16) to monitor V since report of vomiting 7/17/16 and given cerenia and SQ fluids, p has had some appetite and no further reports of vomiting O: QAR, lying in back of kitty condo behind litterbox, when opened door hissed twice, doesn’t want to approach front of kennel no vomitus, feces or urine. Food doesn’t appears to be eaten. But placed canned food in front of p and took a couple of licks. Also licked once from finger. But unable to palpate abdomen today A: h/o V- none seen or reported hissing: r/o stress, pain, other appetite: has been eating as of yesterday P: will monitor appetite and for V, vet check for tomorrow to see if can attempt to palpate p abn, as behavior right now doesn’t permit 07/17/16 18:29 S/O: vet check for vomiting excessively. 07/10/16 16:33 Basic Information Zeus was brought in as an owner’s surrender due to owner’s relative having allergies. Owner has had Zeus for the past 3-years after adopting him from another shelter. Owner says Zeus was last seen by the vet about three years ago. Socialization & behavior Zeus is described as being initially shy but soon friendly when meeting strangers. He has not spent time with children or other animals. According to owner there have been no issues of Zeus biting anyone or another animal. Zeus cried during the car ride to the care center. Zeus deals with nail trims, and will attempt to run when being placed into the carrier. For a New family to Know Zeus is described as confident, talkative, and excitable with a high activity level. When home she is normally following her owner, and enjoys chasing toys. Zeus was kept indoors only and was fed Purina dry food and given wet food as a treat. Zeus is litter-box trained using a hooded litter-box and scratched client’s couch made of felt material. Behavior during intake Zeus was friendly during intake. He exited carrier when summoned and allowed petting. Zeus allowed collaring and allowed all handling to be conducted. Zeus showed no signs of aggression during intake.

Zeus’s former owner described him as being initially shy but soon friendly when meeting strangers. He has not spent time with children or other animals. Also, described as confident, talkative, and excitable with a high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Zeus looks neutral, sitting upright on his cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Zeus remains in place, alert with eyes wandering. Reaction to touch: Zeus slowly walks towards the assessor’s hand and began to head-butt while he maintains his awareness with his surroundings. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains a bit stiff. Placement determination: Average Zeus interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
