KNOWN HISTORY: Zarya was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on her behavior in her previous home. She tolerated all handling and allowed collaring during intake. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – allowed all handling, growled when checked skin for parasites EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Zarya was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Zarya chirps and rubs against the cage wall, leaning against it. Reaction to cage door opening: Zarya remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Zarya lowers her body and her ears bend flat against her head in anticipation of touch, but quickly warms up when touched and will lean in and lift her rear, purring. Reaction to pick up: Zarya remains calm, but wiggles to be placed back down. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet, Calm BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Zarya interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.
