MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities

SURGERY: Okay for surgery
08/31/17:
Pre-surgical exam, anesthesia, and surgery performed by ASPCA. Green linear tattoo placed on ventral abdomen.
Behavior::
KNOWN HISTORY:
Yuri was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:
Timid, allows exam
ENRICHMENT NOTES:
08/30/17
Huddled in back of kennel next to siblings. Hisses. Tolerates petting while leaning head away to avoid touch and squinting eyes closed. Body is tense and tail is wrapped around feet. Needs more time to adjust.
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: No change
Reaction to assessor: Yuri in the back of the cubby with her head lowered.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Yuri keeps her body lowered and avoids eye contact.
Reaction to cage door opening: Yuri moves away to the other side of the kennel.
Reaction to touch: Yuri inches forward, sniffs the assessor’s and accepts gentle petting on her head and along her body. She starts to purr and gives head butts when rubbed on her head.
Reaction to being picked up: Yuri was a bit tense when picked up, but remained calm and allowed all handling.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow
VOCAL: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet, Affectionate
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average
Yuri interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
