SAFE 10/30/17 Peach and Yoshi were found together and both currently have URIs and conjunctivitis but are eating well on their own.

Yoshi 10991, 6-7 Weeks Old, Gray DSH, Male, 1 lb 7 oz, Stray 10/28/17

Medical:

10/28/17:

DVM Intake Exam
Estimated age: 6-7 weeks
Microchip noted on Intake? negative
History : stray
Subjective: BAR, ~5-6% dehydrated
Observed Behavior – very sweet. Easily handleable. Did well for all medical handling and procedures
Evidence of Cruelty seen – no
Evidence of Trauma seen – no
Objective
P = wnl
R = eupneic
BCS 3/9
EENT: OS-purulent d/c with chemosis and blepharospasm, OD wnl, ears have mild to moderate brown debris, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: kitten dentition, 2 lingual ulcers on caudal tongue
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: MI
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, dull hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment:
URI with conjunctivitis
Lingual ulcers
Dehydration
Underweight
Underage
Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC
Move to iso
Start doxycycline 10mg/kg PO SID x10d
Clean eyes
Start erythromycin OU BID x10d
Start LRS 20ml SID x3d
Start simbadol 0.1ml SQ SID x3d for lingual ulcers
Clean ears
Prognosis: Fair to poor
SURGERY: temporary waiver from surgery due to underage and illness

EENT: Severe purulent d/c with severe chemosis OU-unable to assess globes, ears clean, purulent nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: kitten dentition, no oral lesions noted
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated, distended
U/G: FI, no MGTs, no vulvar d/c
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, dirty hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment:
Underage
URI with conjunctivitis
Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC
Cleaned eyes
Start erythromycin OU BID x10d until 11/7
Start doxycycline 10mg/kg PO SID x10d until 11/7
Keep in medical for daily monitoring
Temporary waiver from surgery due to underage and URI
