YODA – A1091308
Gone - 9-30-2016 Brooklyn
***GONE 09/30/16*** YODA IS SUPPOSEDLY A STRAY, YET WAS “SURRENDERED” TO THE SHELTER. LIKELY AN EX- OWNER WITH A GUILTY CONSCIOUS!! He’s just 7 years old and missing some teeth and has dental disease so he needs to see a competent vet about possibly seeing a specialist. However, it could be as simple as a good cleaning, let the vet confirm his health status, the ACC sure doesn’t care! But YODA needs a New Hope rescue to pull him! He also needs someone to offer to FOSTER OR ADOPT him. If you can, CONTACT our Help Desk at [email protected] and we will guide you through the process! Be the one voice that’s HEARD! Say you will save YODA!

09/26/16 12:37 Yoda was brought in a stray. Yoda sat in the back of the carrier witha tense body and dilauted pupils. Yoda moved very quickly when transferred and when the microchip scanner touched him. He was not hnadled for photos or collaring because of the quick moving reaction to being touches. The surrender states that Yoda is a mellow stray cat and is friendly to the stranger’s he meets. He likes to eat wet food and chicken.

09/29/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Yoda was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Yoda was curled up in his litter box facing the wall with his tail curled up at his side. Reaction when softly spoken to: Yoda slowly turns towards the assessor, makes eye contact the lip licks. Reaction to cage door opening: Yoda curls up tight, and presses his body up against the back wall. Reaction to touch: Yoda’s eyes widen and he slowly leans away when the assessor extends his hand out. His body is very tense and he tolerates limited petting before hissing and swatting then allows no more contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Yoda is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
