We were able to get Ying into the net and place him into one of our carriers. Due to the nature of the intake I was not able to collar or photograph Ying.

12/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ying was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in a previous home. Enrichment staff report that Ying has been very stressed in the shelter environment but has at times allowed head rubs with a slow, gentle approach and appreciated receiving treats. Reaction to assessor: Ying was lying down in his litter box, alert with wide eyes and made a lot of eye contact. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ying remained motionless, continued to make a lot of eye contact, hissed and growled. Reaction to cage door opening: Ying hissed, spit, lunged forward and swatted. Reaction to touch: Ying would not allow the assessor to touch or approach. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Ying is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
