WIND – A1083540
Gone - 8-4-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 08/04/16*** WIND IS A TWO YEAR OLD, 13 POUND CAT, WITH A POSSIBLE EAR TIP, WHO HAD A POSSIBLE SEIZURE…..Right now, WIND is a very scared cat….Is he a colony cat? Maybe. While colony cats are fed, 13 pounds is pretty heavy…. And he could have had a seizure, some cats only get them sporadically and don’t have to be on medication unless the seizures become regular. So many missing pieces here and all poor WIND wants to do is fly away…..WIND is a cat that probably would be very happy in a home with regular meals and most likely become a grey and white mush cat, given time and patience……But he’s not going to get that at the ACC and possibly be killed at noon tomorrow if no one offers to FOSTER or ADOPT him…..BE THE “WIND” BENEATH HIS WINGS….Apply now! If you need assistance, email us at [email protected]

08/02/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Wind was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was very fearful upon intake and attempted to flee. He was also very tense and nervous during his initial medical exam and resisted handling, trying to swat. The enrichment facilitator reports he was by the back and had dilated eyes when approached for an interaction. Reaction to assessor: Wind was lying down, calm and relaxed when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Wind looks at the assessor, but he looks around at his surroundings shortly afterwards. Reaction to cage door opening: Wind curls up and becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Wind was hesitant of contact, but sniffs the assessor’s hand. He begins to breathe rapidly, but allows petting with a slow approach. He remains immobile and his ears tilt sideways. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Wind tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
