03/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Wilma and at the time she was curled up at the back of the cage. Wilma was tense with wide eyes. She slowly backs away but and appears uncomfortable while being touched. Reaction to assessor: Wilma was at the back of the cage watching the assessor with wide eyes When spoken quietly: Wilma stays at the back of the cage and continues watching the assessor Reaction to door cage opening: Wilma remains motionless Reaction to touch: Wilma allows petting with a slow approach and gentle touch Try picking cat up: Wilma is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Wilma was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. I was also able to pick her up and although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this Wilma go to a home with experienced cat parents.
