***SAFE 11/11/17*** MELLOW AND CHATTY KITTEN WHISKEY IS AVERAGE RATED AND NEEDS A HOME TONIGHT! WHISKEY is a 3 month old kitten who has a bad cold. He also had come in with an abscess on the side of his jaw. This boy needs a home where he can get some TLC! He loves attention and is easy to handle. RESERVE WHISKEY BY NOON!!

Hello, my name is Whiskey. My animal id is #11521. I am a male gray tabby kitten at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 months old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 02-Nov-2017.
Whiskey is being placed at risk due to an Upper respiratory Infection and is contagious to other cats. Whiskey will likely require in home care with a course of antibiotics. there are no known behavior concerns for Whiskey at tis time (average determination).

Swelling along R mandible noted by ACS S/O -QAR, somewhat unsocialized but allows handling -mm pk, sl tacky; no obvious gingival abnormalities along R side -firm, approx 1 inch in diameter SQ swelling to R of mandible; feels too superficial to be lymph node -mild mucoid nasal discharge -eupnic -soft, doughy abdomen -sl unthrifty, dirty hair coat A swelling along mandible-r/o abscess vs lymphadenopathy vs other URI P -sedated, lanced swelling and recovered mild to moderate amount of purulent discharge -clavamox 62.5 mg/ml: 0.3 ml PO BID x 10 days -onsior 0.1 ml SQ once -simbadol 0.14 ml SQ SID x 3 days -monitor swelling to ensure it resolves
URI, abscess along R mandible expressed yesterday; on simbadol, doxycycline and clavamox drops S/O -QAR -great appetite -normal bowel movement in box followed by episode of diarrhea -mm pk, sl tacky -mild mucoserous nasal discharge -swelling along R mandible still present but significantly reduced today; mild edematous drainage along mandible -eupnic, purring with slightly harsh lung sounds -soft, doughy abdomen -erythema, rectal irritation A Diarrhea-r/o parasites vs other Abscess along mandible-improving URI P panacur 100 mg/ml: 0.6 ml PO SID x 5 days
Sedated for clip and clean of wound on R side of neck. Sedated with 0.1mL Butorphanol and 0.05mL Dexdomitor IM. Clipped and surgically scrubbed site with chlorhexidine scrub and alcohol. Small abscess expressed from neck with swelling surrounding. Gave 0.1mL onsior SQ, 0.1mL simbadol SQ and 0.1mL Cerenia SQ for tx per 1382.

Upon intake, Whiskey allowed all handling and was receptive to petting.

Reaction to touch:: Whiskey remains in place and meows softly when pet. She begins to purr and leans in for rubs.
