Observed Behavior -lethargic but very sweet and allows all handling, good appetite

EENT:
-OU: sunken, otherwise clear
-one soft sneeze heard, no nasal discharge
-AU: dark discharge, pruritic, suspect mites
Oral Exam:mm lgt pk, tacky; CRT 2 sec; moderate to severe staining, moderate tartar, tip fractures of upper canines with possible root exposure
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: eupnic, clear lung sounds, purring softly on auscultation, no murmurs or arrhythmias noted, thready pulse quality
ABD: soft, doughy, nonpainful; intestines feel sl thickened/ropey
U/G: male neutered
MSI:
-ambulatory x 4 with slightly hunched posture
-mild intermittent tremors, likely due to weakened state
-hair coat appears recently shaved
-crusting along back of ear pinna
-urine staining along hind limbs
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal:grossly normal
Assessment
1. FIV
2. Emaciated-r/o parasites vs malnutrition vs secondary to FIV (lymphoma vs other)
3. Severe dehydration
4. Ear mites
Prognosis:guarded
Plan:
-CBC/chem
-place IVC, start LRS at 15 ml/hr
-Tresaderm AU SID x 10 days
-further treatment pending bloodwork, consider EHR if declines
SURGERY:temp waiver due to emaciated/dehydrated
