WALTON – A1065823
Safe - 2-29-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
**SAFE 02/29/16** STUNNING! With that rich grey coat and those bottomless amber eyes, WALTON makes quite an impression, even at first glance! The shelter guesstimates this boy to be about 3 years of age, and this poor waif came into the ACC with a dirty coat. Is Walton a true stray, or just someone’s pet who has been living rough lately? WALTON earned an EXPNOCHILD rating and needs a FOSTER/ADOPTER who can give him time to decompress in a safe environment; someone who will then help Walton feel safe and allow him to blossom into a fantastic companion. Please share WALTON far and wide for that FOSTER/ADOPTER who can save his life, tonight!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Walton looks tense in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Walton remains crouched position on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Walton at first attempt to avoid contact, but during the touch he becomes hesitant then began to stiffen up in place while he flinches during the stroke. Placement determination: Experience / no child Walton tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
