***SAFE 07/06/16***WONDERFUL WAFER IS WAITING FOR YOU!!…..Wafer’s foster family writes: Wafer is a very shy, handsome little man. He doesn’t give his trust and heart to just anyone, but they are definitely worth winning. He is very quiet and watchful, and he likes to creep close and sleep near you – if he thinks you aren’t paying attention. He is also quite a well-behaved little gentleman, although he does have plenty of kitten energy! He loves to play, especially with wand toys, and he lets his guard down a lot when he’s chasing toy mice on a string – in fact, he’ll chase them right into your lap! He’s still not quite sure about the whole petting thing, but if you catch him while he’s drowsy he seems to enjoy being scratched behind his ears and by his chin. If you can be patient and give this little man time, he’ll make a loyal and loving addition to your family!….WAFER is 5 months old and already NEUTERED….SOMEONE STAND UP FOR THIS SHY GUY AND GIVE HIM A HOME!! [email protected] is available if you need foster/adoption/rescue info!!

06/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Wafer has been living with his foster parent for about 5 and a half weeks. The foster parent was the only person in the home, but he lived with with his littermate. He played and napped with his sister, and was allowed loose in the apartment. He was very good with using his litter box and uses his scratching post, and although he may also scratch on a rolling suitcase, he did not scratch anything else. He was tolerant around strangers and has a kitten curiousity to jump on high places. The foster parent believes he will do best with an experienced owner; someone who understands that it will take some time for him to warm up to his new home. Although he is very shy, once he starts getting used to you he likes to creep up and be near you. Date: 05/18/16 Reaction to assessor: Wafer looks tense, crouched position at the back when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Wafer remains in place, hissing at the assessor, alert with pupils dilated. Reaction to touch: While Wafer continues to hiss, he accepts the stroke, and stiffens up. Placement determination: Experience / no child Wafer tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
