***SAFE 05/19/16***AFFECTIONATE AND VOCAL – VOVAL WAS BROUGHT IN WHEN SOMEONE FOUND HIM AFTER HIS OWNERS MOVED AWAY AND ABANDONED HIM. VOVAL is about 3 years old and neutered. He has something wrong with one eye which will need immediate vet care. But it is no need for this to cause his death at noon Wednesday!! VOVAL lived with adults and had perfect litterbox manners. He is friendly with new people and loves to play with balls and squeaky toys! VOVAL sounds like the PURRFECT kitty! Yet the assessor rated him EXPERIENCE. Why? So they could get away with listing him tonight! VOVAL was friendly on intake, giving head butts, nuzzling the counselor’s hand and purring. Then they say he appears “stressed” in the shelter? Really? Tell me what cat LOVES being caged and poked at? GET VOVAL OUT OF HARM’S WAY NOW BY EMAILING OUR HELP DESK FOR RESCUE CONTACT INFO AT [email protected]. VOVAL NEEDS YOU TONIGHT!

05/17/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Voval was brought in with limited information on his behavior in his previous home. He has lived with two adults and was described as friendly around new people. He is litter box trained and plays with balls and squeaky toys in the home. Voval was relaxed and nuzzled against the counselors upon intake. He lightly head-butted, purred, and allowed all handling. He was also easy to handle during his initial medical exam. Reaction to Assessor: Voval was sitting upright and was calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Voval comes to the front and sniffs around. Reaction to cage door opening: Voval retreats to the back and stress meows. Reaction to touch: Voval was hesitant and his ears tilt slightly sideways, but he allows gentle petting on his head. After a few strokes, he shifts away from contact and starts to drool. Behavior Determination: Experience Voval tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
