SAFE 3/24/18— 10 year old VICTOR lost his home along with his 5 housemates when owner died. He is already neutered, and nervous in the shelter. Please consider making him and possibly a housemate part of your family.

03/20/18
Lying on top of kuranda bed with a low, tense body. He tolerates petting along his head and shoulders briefly before abruptly raising his head and vocalizing loudly. Uncomfortable with touch at this time. Needs more time to adjust.

03/21/18
Lying on top of kuranda bed, body tense. Body low and tense. Tail is wrapped tightly around body. Flattens ears and turns slowly to make eye contact when spoken to. I leave him some treats but he’s uninterested at the moment. Uncomfortable, needs more time to adjust.

History : O deceased. Brought in as 4 cats from one household (Shirley 23233, Tommy 23234, Tony 23235, Victor 23236). Two other cats from same household were brought in previously (Spottie 23096 and Lego 23097).

Subjective:BAR- H

Observed Behavior – Scared but able to do almost full exam in a towel

Evidence of Cruelty seen -n

Evidence of Trauma seen -n

EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: Marked tartar, some missing molars/ pre-molars, mod gingivitis – grade 4 ddz – but does not seem painful.
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: neutered male
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal:

Assessment:
Geriatric healthy MC DSH- 10 yo
Dental dz.

Prognosis: Good

Plan:
May need dental tx in future but not urgent
