***SAFE 07/28/16*** VELVET IS AN 11 WEEK OLD KITTEN WITH A TAIL WOUND – AND FOR THAT SHE WILL BE KILLED! VELVET is a silky black kitten who was brought into the ACC because she was injured – her tail has an infected wound. Since the ACC is not an animal hospital and only gives basic care, VELVET will need a foster to step up for her and care for her til she is well again. VELVET is timid and shy but did allow some petting and handling with a slow approach. All she needs is a place to learn that not all humans are going to hurt her. FOSTERING WILL SAVE VELVET’S LIFE. RESCUES PAY VETTING AND YOU GIVE THE TLC AND LOVE. PLEASE OFFER TO HELP THIS SWEET KITTEN – EMAIL [email protected] FOR RESCUE INFO.

07/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Velvet does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Velvet does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Velvet remains motionless Reaction to touch: Velvet remains tense but allows petting with a slow approach Try picking cat up: Did not attempt due to Velvet fleeing the cage earlier in the day Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Velvet was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. Although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
