10/30/16 14:29 Basic Information: Velcro is a male domestic short hair cat who was found as a stray and brought into ACC. Socialization: Around strangers Velcro is friendly, outgoing and play gently with adults and children. Velcro has spent time with children ages 5 to 12, around them Velcro is relaxed and affectionate. Velcro has spent time with stray cats in a backyard who were not friendly towards him. Velcro has not been around dogs so it is unknown how he will react towards them. behavior: Velcro has never bitten or scratched another person or animal. Velcro has no behavior issues and will cry when riding in a car. Velcro’s previous care takers did not attempt to give Velcro a bath, trim his nails or brush him so it is unknown how he will react to those events. Velcro enjoys being picked up/held, placed in a carrier and doesn’t mind being disturbed while resting/sleeping. For a new Family to Know: Velcro is described as: friendly, affectionate, playful, confident and quiet with a medium activity level. When at home Velcro will follow around his owners and likes to play with balls and string. Velcro was kept indoors but was let outside when he had to use the bathroom. Velcro did not use the litter box. Intake Behavior: Velcro allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Energetic VOCAL: Talkative CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 7/11/17- Observed Behavior – nervous, growling but allows handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 7/11/17- Playing with toy on approach. Meowed quietly and started rubbing against the bars when spoken to, but eyes dilated. Seemed a little unsure. When door opened, retreated to stand under shelf. Sniffed hand, leaned slightly into pets, but remained wary. 7/12/17 More confident today! At the front on approach, soft eyes and body. Started meowing, rubbing against and reaching through the bars when spoken to. Very active. Stayed on top of shelf when door opened. Ate treats from my hand, allowed some pets, but still tends to lean away. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Velcro immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Velcro remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Velcro head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Velcro interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
