VANILLA is only 10 months old and what a cutie pie!! She lived with adults and teens and loved to be petted and held. Sadly, her family was evicted and she has been at the shelter since then and now has the ACC cooties which is making her sick and not wanting to eat. Despite her not feeling well this adorable girl rocked an AVERAGE rating for her friendly behavior and being very easy to handle. 03/16/16 14:20hrs Vanilla is described as quiet, reserved and loving. She has lived with children aged 13 and 14 years old. She would allow the family to pet her and hold her. Vanilla also lived with Icey and they were affectionate with each other. They would play, eat and sleep together. She was introduced to a dog once but she ran away from him. BEHAVIOR Vanilla is accustomed to grooming herself. She enjoys being brushed. Vanilla spends a lot of time resting in her cat bed or she might lie down next to her family members when they are relaxing in the home. Vanilla will spend a lot of time running around with Icey at night. She will hide when visitors enter the home. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Vanilla enjoys playing in catnip. Her owner noted that she will chew on tea bags left out because they may remind her of catnip. Vanilla would share a covered litterbox. Vanilla would use an upholstered chair to scratch on in the home. During car trips Vanilla will become stressed and drool. Vanilla is accustomed to eating dry cat food. DURING INTAKE Vanilla was crouched down and hiding in the back of her carrier. She would attempt to hide while out of the carrier. She allowed handling and would close her eyes and rub her head against the counselors hands. She was collared, scanned for a microchip(negative) and photographed.

Vanilla’s former owner described her as quiet, reserved and loving. She has lived with children aged 13 and 14 years old. She would allow the family to pet her and hold her. Vanilla also lived with Icey and they were affectionate with each other. They would play, eat and sleep together. She was introduced to a dog once but she ran away from him. Reaction to assessor: Vanilla looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Vanilla remains lying down on her cage bedding , alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Vanilla accepts the stroke and began to lip lick in place. However, she warms up quickly then leans into the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Vanilla interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
