TYLER – A1089168
Gone - 9-15-2016 Brooklyn
***GONE 09/15/16***Tyler is a 3 year old cat surrendered to the ACC because his former owner was moving away to a place that doesn’t allow pets. He’s a little shy so the ACC must seem a little overwhelming for him. His former owner left notes that he was a good boy who lived with a child who was over 11 years old. Tyler is a little independent but does like the attention that only an owner can supply. Won’t you consider this black beauty by applying to adopt or foster tonight!

Tyler’s previous owner reports he is shy around strangers for a few hours when they visit the home. He will warm up to them and allow petting afterwards. He has been around children and is tolerant when pet, but mostly keeps his distance. He is playful and affectionate around adults, but has never lived with other animals. He allows the owner to brush his coat and enjoys being picked up. He was best described as friendly, confident, and playful. Reaction to assessor: Tyler was grooming himself upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Tyler stops grooming and looks at the assessor with soft eyes, blinking. Reaction to cage door opening: Tyler remains in place, curious. Reaction to touch: Tyler sniffs the assessor’s hand, but shifts away when petting was attempted. He lifts his paw and whines softly when attempting to touch his head, tail thumping. He allows gentle petting on his body, however, but appears uncomfortable and unsure. When petting stops, he sniffs the assessor’s hand for a while. Placement Determination: Experienced, No Children Tyler tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
