Twistie is thin, and they suspect hyperthyroidism, has dental disease, a mammary gland tumor and a corneal ulcer. Needs further medical evaL. Please help poor Twistie today. She is already spayed and hopes to have a home to spend her golden years.

Evidence of Cruelty seen – possible neglect? Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective P = 140 R = 20 BCS: 2/9 EENT: Large corneal ulcer O.D., ventral third of cornea, mucopurulent ocular discharge/chemosis/blepharospasms. Clear O.S. , ears clean, no nasal discharge noted. Large thyroid nodules noted on exam. Oral Exam: missing teeth (oligodontia), periodontal disease PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: female spayed, mammary gland tumor right caudal chain. MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Thin, suspect hyperthyroidism dental disease mammary gland tumor corneal ulcer O.D. Plan: vaccinate microchip bloodwork: cbc/chem/TT4 flush and treat eye. combo test flea tx deworm pend bloodwork results: Chem: within normal limits CBC: elevated WBC neutrophilia/eosinophilia: give 0.4 cc convenia sq. TT4: Very elevated at 14.0 ug/dl (normal: 0.8-4.7 ug/dl). To begin on methimazole Prognosis: guarded SURGERY: already altered
