***SAFE 10/12/16*** TURNER IS PART OF A COLONY THAT HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BY FINDER SINCE HURRICANE SANDY…BUT NEIGHBORS ARE MOVING BACK TO THEIR PREVIOUSLY DESTROYED HOUSE AND FINDER IS SCARED THAT THE LARGE DOGS MAY COME TO HARM THIS COLONY OF CATS AND KITTENS! The Finder is trying to TNR the mom cat and catch all the kittens…but as after so much work went into their care, why throw it all down the drain by bringing him to a shelter that will kill him? TURNER is just 4 months old and scared to death, he’s going to need a New Hope rescue and you to save his life? Won’t you make the call the a New Hope partner and be the one to intervene and carry in the Finder’s good work?

10/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Turner came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Turner tried to flee and was very afraid of human contact. Reaction to assessor: Turner is hiding in a den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Turner becomes very alert, wide eyes and stiff. Reaction to cage door opening: Turner hisses and retreats. Reaction to touch: Turner hisses, growls and swats at the assessor. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Turner is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Turner is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
