11/23/16 18:34 Animal’s appearance – Cat appeared mostly clean and of healthy weight. Animal’s demeanor with you – Cat allowed handling. Client stated she found this cat and 7 others in a box on her front stoop. She cannot take care of these cats and does not know who dropped these cats off at her doorstep or why. She had a friend help her bring the box into his car and brought them over to SIACC asap.

Turkey came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Turkey allowed all handling. Reaction to assessor: Turkey looks at assessor from mid-cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Turkey remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Turkey retreats to the back of the cage. Reaction to touch: Turkey allows petting all over body. Reaction to pick up: Turkey is tense, jumps out of assessor’s arms. Placement Determination: Average Turkey does not approch the assessor and seems a bit apprehensive, but appreciates petting and tolerates handling. Turkey is exhibiting behavior suited to average cat parents.
