***SAFE 06/02/16***SAD AND SCARED FELINE FOURSOME NEED NEW “LEASH” ON LIFE! Mesos, Tropos, Stratos and Dax are four shy, gentle and low maintenance kitties who lived peacefully in their colony and were tended to by a caretaker who had them spayed and neutered. Then when their caretaker moved out of the country, they were scooped up and dumped at the kill happy shelter where they are in desperate need of a miracle. Stratos and Mesos, two beautiful grey tabbies can be publicly adoptable. They are shy but given the chance, warm up and tolerate petting and handling. Tropos and Dax are a bit more scared and will need to be reserved through a New Hope partner. They are not aggressive–just in need of a kind and patient purrson willing to give them a chance–a chance to live. Please help write a happy ending to any or all of this fab feline foursome’s sad tales by reserving or contacting a rescue. Contact our help desk and we will lead you through the process–[email protected] Save a life. Make a difference.

06/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Tropos and at the time he very fearful. Tropos avoids all contact. She doesn’t allow any contact. She hisses and swats when close. Reaction to assessor: Tropos does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Tropos does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Tropos becomes stiff, alert Reaction to touch: Tropos strikes and does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: Did not attempt to pick up Tropos due fractious behavior Behavior Determination: NewHope Tropos was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. She seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment Tropos was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Tropos may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
