10/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Trois was brought in a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in a previous home. Please note Trois is being treated for dehydration, emaciation, and matting at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting his behavior. Please note that hs behavior may change once his condition is addressed and he is recovered. Reaction to assessor: Trois remained motionless, lying at front of cage, with head up and body posture relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Trois remained motionless but looked up and made some eye contact. Reaction to cage door opening: Trois remained motionless, body posture relaxed, observed assessor. Reaction to touch: Trois initially hissed and retreated to the back of the cage, avoiding touch, but allowed a soft, gentle pass while at back of cage and sitting in litter box. Reaction to pick up: Trois was very tense and avoided being picked up, grabbed onto the blanket and tried to shift away. Behavior Determination: Experience No Children Trois is fearful and/or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
