I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 05/14/2017 from NY 10460, owner surrender reason stated was ATT PEOPLE.

05/20/17 14:13 S/O: reported to be drooling EENT: pink gums, no oral ulcers but mld hypersalivation sneezed, scant serous nasal d/c A: URI P: move to iso doxycyline 50mg/ml: 1.2ml PO SID x10 cerenia 10mg/ml: 0.5ml diluted in 0.5ml LRS SID X2 days for hypersalivation/inflammation prognosis: good 5/14/17 DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: Reported to be 5 years – exam is consistent with this Microchip noted on Intake? Scanned negative for MC History : Recent aggression Subjective: Hissy and growly during exam but allowed handling. Yowled, tensed up, grabbed onto table and tried to escape during vaccinations – put in Freeman net for these. Unable to do combo test due to pt stress level. Objective BCS 6/9, MMs pink and moist EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Mild tartar PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Slightly tense, no masses palpated, bladder large but not firm U/G: Male neutered MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Slightly overweight. Bladder full. Recent hx aggression – R/O stress in household vs. medical reaon such as FIC vs. other Plan: Recommend mild weight loss. Monitor for urination to confirm pt can urinate on own. 05/14/17 09:09 Socialization Around strangers, he is friendly and outgoing and is interested in them that come in and allows petting. He has spent time with children 2, 5, and 8 year old and is usually tolerant with them for a couple minutes but will be reactive after some time.He does not play with the adults in theh ome. He plays very rough with children. He has spent time with with cats but does not do well with them and had to be seperated from them. He lived with a large dog and was fearful and had to be seperate from the dog. He has abite history with a person and animal more than 10 days ago. behavior OWner stated the behavior issues he has is scratching up furniture, scratching and sometimes biting people. He meows in public transportation . there are no litterbox problems. Owner has never given him a bath. He struggles with nail trims. He is not bothered with brushing of coat. He struggles when being picked up and holding for a few minutes. He isnt bothered being placed in carrier. For the new family Owner described him as mellow, assertive, and quiet. He has a medium activity. When owner is home he rarely seeks attention. He likes playing with wand toys and stuffed toys. He was kept indoors only. He eats natural balance cat food and wet food. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Affectionate, Sweet KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: 2 adults, a child, and large dog Behavior toward strangers: friendly and outgoing Behavior toward children: spent time with children 2, 5, and 8 year old and is usually tolerant with them for a couple minutes but will be reactive after some time. Behavior toward cats: does not do well with them Behavior toward dogs: fearful Bite or Scratch history: rough player Litter box training: yes Other notes: described him as mellow, assertive, and quiet. He has a medium activity. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Trini looks neutral, lying down on his cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Trini stands with tail up, alert with normal shape eyes. Reaction to touch: Trini engages the front, leans into the assessor’s hand, purrs, and appreciates petting. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Trini interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for an average cat parents. However, the cat’s behavior in kennel earned him an Average rating however, due to past incidents with the previous owner the cat is rated Experience.
