He came into the shelter healthy, nervous (naturally) but not aggressive at all. He has been slapped with a NH rating for being scared and trying to run away. I am a male brn tabby domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 6 MONTHS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 02/20/2016 from NY 11436, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

VC – CHECK EYES – EXTREMELY NERVOUS, PUPILS DILATED OU AND APPEARED TO HAVE NYSTAGMUS DURING ROUNDS 2/21 S/O: Cat is BAR, there is a cage cover on cage today OU still dilated, but unable to appreciate nystagmus – possible nervous twitching E/D A: Apparently healthy, very nervous P: Continue to monitor while at BACC

02/20/16 13:18 Upon intake Treasure was tense and retreated to the back of the carrier. When handling he began to tense and growl, counselor was able to collar, photograph and scan (negative), attempted to flee. Did not show any signs of aggression.

Reaction to assessor: Treasure at the front watching the assessor nervously When spoken quietly: Treasure at the front watching the assessor nervously Reaction to door cage opening: Treasure attempts to flee while growling Reaction to touch: Treasure continued to attempt to flee Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Treasue seems to not be thriving in this environment. At the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to tries to flee and is extremely fearful. He currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.

Scanned negative BARH – burst out of carrier, when placed in towel tried to bite, tried to claw. Heavy gloves and towel needed for exam. M~ 6 months Ears, eyes, nose, throat clear Teeth white Coat dirty/flea dirt – no live parasites noted Nails worn short – two nails broken to quick on front right paw during exam – slight bleeding.
