***SAFE 10/29/16 *** EXOTIC LADIES!!….TORY & IZA came from a household of 14 cats! When the housing authority found out, it was out the door for TORY & IZA!! Needless to say they are confused and scared at the shelter. They got along well with their housemates and with their owner but they are totally uninterested at the ACC!! Both these ladies needs some time and TLC to adjust to a new environment!! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A COMPANION (OR TWO) TO ADD TO YOUR HOME, APPLY NOW!! TORY & IZA will be glad to be back in a real home again!!

10/20/16 11:29 Basic Information Tory is an approximate 2 year old female domestic short hair who is being surrendered because owner was ordered to remove his 14 cats from his home by NYCHA. Tory was born in owner’s home. Owner stated she has no medical issues but has never seen a vet. Socialization Owner stated Tory is friendly around strangers. She has never lived or spent time around kids. She plays in a gentle manner with adults. She lived with 14 others cats. She was affectionate and tolerant with the cats. She plays in a gentle manner with the cats. She has never lived or spent time with dogs or any other kinds of animal. She has never bitten a person or animal. Behavior Owner stated Tory has no behavior issues and was relaxed during the car ride to our shelter. Owner has never bathed or trimmed her nails. She is not bothered if brushed, picked up, placed in a carrier, or if disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know Tory is described as friendly, affectionate, and playful with a medium activity level. Owner stated when home his cats would do their own thing. They would only come to him when it was feeding time. She was kept indoors only and slept anywhere. She was fed Alley Cat and Nine Lives dry cat food. Owner stated he would fill a large bowl three times a day. She uses an uncovered cat litter box with crystal style litter in it. She scratched on a chair made out of fabric and wood. Behavior during Intake Tory tolerated all handling. She purred and arched her back when I petted her. She did not display any signs of aggression.

Reaction to assessor: Tory looks shy, crouched position at the back when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Tory remains immobile in place, tense body posture, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Tory accepts the stroke, but shows no interest during the touch and stiffens up. Placement determination: Experience Tory tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
