SAFE 10/8/17 NEW VIDEO & PHOTO! A volunteer writes: A very handsome fluffy grey fella. He’s a sweet chatty boy. He comes up to the front of the cage all the time to get anyone’s attention. He loves to head butt which will elicit loud purrs. He also has his own comb and he loves being combed and will walk back and forth for you not to stop.
Another volunteer writes: A poem by Tommy: “I sat up when I saw her, a volunteer. A human that hopefully will come visit me, rub my head and scratch my ears. It was so much better, I have to say. I also got some time to play. She stopped in her tracks when she looked at me. She then looked down at my card and began to read. “15 years old!”, she said surprised. Her jaw hung, probably because I looked so young and the spirit of youth lived in my eyes. To my delight, she opened my kennel door and at that moment my heart soared. I received lots of compliments, “Oh you’re so sweet!”, and we played with my rattle mouse in a game where I was the champ and could not be beat. At the end of our time, I was little bummed and tried to call to her to stay. Unfortunately, she she said she had to visit other cats too that day. But, she said that I was her favorite and I was going to meet more new friends anyway. “Thank you very much”, I thought, as she closed the kennel door and walked away. She was right, I did! Today was a good day.”
**RETURN** 15 year old Tommy was returned to the shelter for allergies. Tommy is very friendly and ate well. He will need thyroid testing after placement as he may be hyperthyroid. Tommy is already neutered and needs a retirement home. Please consider helping this older boy.
