11/23/16 19:11 Basic Information: Tomas is a 2 year old neutered Main Coon Mix that has a history of stones and urinary crystals. Previous owner has had Tomas since she was a kitten but then she re-homed her and received her back about a month ago. Previous owner can no longer keep her because she already has too many cats she is caring for already. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers, Tomas can be shy for a few minutes at first then she will loosen up and solicit attention. Around adults & children, Tomas is respectful and relaxed and plays in a gentle and sometimes exuberant manner. She has been around her neutered sibling and she is relaxed and respectful and plays in a gentle manner. Around a small size dog, Tomas is very tolerant. She has never bitten a person or another animal before. Behavior: Previous owners stated that Tomas does not have any behavioral or litterbox issues. Owner did not bath or trim Tomas’s nails so it is unknown how she would react to these grooming agents. Tomas enjoys having her coat brushed. Tomas enjoys being picked up and held. Tomas isn’t bothered by being put into a carrier. For a New Family to Know: Tomas is described as mellow, shy, and quiet with a low activity level. His favorite activity is to sleep in the closet. When in the home, Tomas is would sometimes follow you around if he wants attention or just be in the same room. He likes to play with stuffed toys. He was kept indoors only and is litter box trained. Tomas used an uncovered litter box and clumping litter. He was fed Urinary SO dry cat food. Tomas also used a scratching post made from rough rope.

Tomas came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who described him as mellow and quiet and noted that he socialized well with children, another cat and a small dog in the home. Reaction to assessor: Tomas is lying mid-cage, soft and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Tomas looks at assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Tomas meows softly. Reaction to touch: Tomas head-butts the assessor and warms up to petting, leans into hands. Reaction to pick up: Tomas is calm, tolerant of this type of handling. Placement Determination: Average Tomas does not approach the assessor, but appreciates petting and allows all handling. Tomas is exhibiting behavior suited to average cat parents.
