I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 04/16/2017 from NY 10027, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER DIED. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-094198.

ENRICHMENT NOTES: 4/17/17- Laying at the back, head down, eyes dilated, seemed wary. Allowed pets, lifted rear slightly for butt scratches, some lip licking. 4/18/17- Tucked behind litter box in cubby, eyes dilated, stiff posture. Tolerated pets, minor lip licking, and no other response. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Tom looks tense, crouched position at the back when approached. Reaction to cage door opening: Tom becomes stiff in place alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Tom remains immobile when touched and shows no interest. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Timid RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parent Tom tolerates attention and petting, but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
