TOFFEE – A1064918

**SAFE 02/17/16** VULNERABLE! Meet TOFFEE, a 3-year-old tabby dream who was abandoned by someone who should have treated him better! This handsome striped fellow is a little on the cushy side and could probably use a dental, but the chances of him being a true “stray” are vanishingly small. Toffee is a little rattled by the nightmarish ACC, and he has earned an EXPNOCHILD rating. That’s the quickest way to get yourself killed at the ACC, if you’re a cat, and Toffee is about to become the next sad proof of that fact. Toffee needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER who will give him time to decompress in a safe, loving environment. Make that possible by advocating widely for TOFFEE tonight!

02/14/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Toffee was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Toffee was hiding in his litter box at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Toffee low growls and starts to blink slowly with his tail tucked under his body. Reaction to cage door opening: Toffee stays motionless at the back and continues to low growl. Reaction to touch: Toffee growls and flinches when touched along his body. His body is tense and he lowers his head in the litter box. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Toffee tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
