Basic Information:
Toby is a 17 year old spayed female DSH that owner has to surrender due to personal problems.
Socialization:
According to the owner, around strangers Toby is shy at first but once comfortable will approach the person and rub her face against them purring. She has been around children ages 4-13 & was always respectful and playful with the children. Owner had 19 other cats in the home & stated that Toby was always respectful around the other cats. She has never been around other dogs so behavior is unknown. Toby has never bit another animal or person while in the care of the owner.
Behavior:
Toby is afraid of being given a bath, having her nails trimmed and being put into a carrier and will struggle to run away. She is not bothered by having her coat brushed and being picked up/held.
For a New Family to Know:
Toby is described as friendly, affectionate, playful and quiet with a low activity level. In the home, Toby liked to be in her favorite spot. She enjoys playing with balls, string toys, and catnip toys in the home. Toby was kept indoors only & is litter box trained. In the home, she used a hooded litter box with clumping litter. Owner had a scratching post made of carpet in the home that Toby used but owner also stated that Toby would scratch on the furniture in the home. Toby was fed both wet & dry food brand name Friskies.
