I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 02/11/2017 from NY 11207, owner surrender reason stated was NEW BABY. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-088301.

02/11/17 20:24 Titan is a 4 year old male Domestic Sh Orange tabby; he came to the family’s home from a previous owner. Titan is being surrendered due to the family having a new baby and the care for Titan and other pets in the home has become too time consuming and costly. Titan has no known health issues or injures and has no vet history. Around strangers Titan is friendly and allows the stranger to approach him and pet him. He has lived in a home with a newborn, but has not interacted with the infant. Titan has lived with one other male cat and is very playful and gentle with him. The two cats like to sleep together in the same bed. Titan likes to scratch on wood furniture, especially the cabinet. Titan does not struggle if an individual tries to hold him, and he isn’t bothered when he is being placed in a carrier. He was described as Playful, mellow and affectionate by his previous family. He has a Medium activity level and likes to follow the family around the home. Titan is feed Dry food and wet food of the Friskies brand three times a day. Titan is litter box trained and uses a hooded litter box with pellet litter. Upon intake Titan was very relaxed he allowed the counselor to hold him and pet him. He allowed the counselor to collar him and take a photo without issue.

Doesn’t mind being held or placed in a carrier. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cat hiding under, cage rearranged, no change, recently cleaned, other Reaction to assessor: Titan was relaxed and curious at the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Titan sniffs the assessor then rubs up on door and rolls around playfully. Reaction to cage door opening: Titan is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Titan sniffs the assessor’s hand, rolls around playfully and allows petting all over. He’s incredibly affectionate; gives gentle head butts when rubbed and walks out the kennel to explore. Reaction to being picked up: Titan is calm, relaxed and has a soft body. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 02/12/17 Tense and wary, allows touching all over but lip licks and flinches a bit. Needs time to adjust to this stressful environment. 02/14/17 Doing really well! Sitting up at front of kennel, relaxed and calm. Has an irresistible face–and those toes! Stays right at front when I open kennel door, leans in for petting, which he allows all over. Starts to roll around playfully. Lets me pick up and hold. Sweet, social, friendly housecat! MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Shy, hiding in back of cage. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively VOCAL: Quiet, CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Affectionate,Playful, People Oriented BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: _x_ Beginner Titan interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
