02/20/16 10:49 Animal’s appearance – Cat appeared clean and of healthy weight. Animal’s demeanor with you – Cat was brought in a trap, trying to hide the whole time. I was able to transfer without any aggression such as hissing or swatting. Finder stated he found this cat in his backyard and decided to bring it here to our facility.

Tinsel came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Tinsel was fearful but allowed handling. Reaction to assessor: Tinsel is hiding in his den, asleep. Reaction when softly spoken to: Tinsel does not react inside his den. Reaction to cage door opening: Tinsel backs up and presses against the back. Reaction to touch: Tinsel moves to avoid being touched, but allows limited petting. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Tinsel does not approach the assessor and appears to be fearful of handling. Tinsel is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents with no children who can allow him to adjust at his own pace.
