SAFE 1/27/18 Timba is a beautiful long haired kitty that is a little tense but allowed handling. He is already neutered and ready to find himself a new home.

KNOWN HISTORY:
Timba was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:

Tense throughout exam, allowed handling
Cage Condition:
Cage is neat
Reaction to assessor:
Timba keeps his body lowered, ears bent slightly and he avoids eye contact.
Reaction when softly spoken to:
Timba lip licks, then starts to inch away towards the back of the kennel.
Reaction to cage door opening:
Timba remains motionless.
Reaction to touch:
Timba lowers his head and tries to avoid eye contact. He flinches slightly when touched and tolerates slow, gentle petting along his body. He lip licks and remains completely immobile when pet, but slowly starts to warm up over time. After a few minutes of attention he rises up, leans in for cheek rubs, then slowly comes forward to explore his surroundings.
Reaction to being picked up:
Timba was tense when picked up, started to vocalize, then leaped back into the kennel.

MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat, few areas of matting
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment: Apparently healthy
Prognosis: Excellent
Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC
