11/13/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Tilden was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was very scared during intake and didn’t appear to like being touched. He was also very nervous and tense during his initial medical exam and resisted handling. Reaction to assessor: Tilden was inside a den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Tilden looks at the assessor with dilated eyes from inside the den. Reaction to cage door opening: Tilden becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Tilden focuses on the assessor’s hand and hisses. He attempts to avoid contact by shifting away further into the den, but remains immobile when touched. He is tolerant of petting on his head and body, but appears very uncomfortable. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Tilden tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
