CUTE TIGER BELL was surrendered by her owner for landlord issues after taking her in as a gift from a friend. TIGER BELL was a shy but gentle kitty in the home but now at the shelter she is not her usual self. So the ACC said she must exit tonight!! PLEASE GIVE THIS YOUNG KITTY A NEW FUREVER HOME NOW – RESERVE HER BY NOON!!

Hello, my name is Tiger Bell. My animal id is #10628. I am a desexed female brown tabby cat at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 24-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- landlord won’t allow.
Tiger Bell is at risk for behavior concerns (Experience determination). His has been fearful in care center and has displayed distance-increasing behavior. He accepts some petting, but will show discomfort when he’s had enough attention.

Friendly- allows all handling Subjective: Evidence of Cruelty seen – No Evidence of Trauma seen – No Objective P = 196 R = 42 BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: Mild tartar, adult dentition, MM pink and moist PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Intact female- no OVH scar noted/ palpated MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Apparently Healthy Prognosis: Excellent Plan: No medications necessary at this time SURGERY: Okay for surgery

During intake Tiger bell appeared fearful. She attempted to hid in her carrier and struggled away. However with slow movement she allowed to be picked up, collard, scanned and photographed.

Basic Information:: Tiger bell is a gray tabby with white that is 1 year old. The owner received the cat from a friend. The owner is surrendering Tiger Bell due to landlord issues.
Previously lived with:: 2 adults and 2 children
How is this cat around strangers?: When strangers comes over she keeps her distances but it the same area. It takes a few days to warm up to people. After a few days she allows to be petted.
How is this cat around children?: She has lived with a 7 year old and a 10 year old. She was gentle and rubs for attention.
How is this cat around other cats?: She has never lived with cats.
How is this cat around dogs?: She has never lived with dogs.
Behavior Notes: Tiger bell has never been bathed or has had her nails trimmed. However she is relaxed being picked up. Tiger bell is fearful going into her carrier. She always use her uncover litter box.

For a New Family to Know: Tiger bell is described as mellow, affectionate and sometimes shy. She loves cat toys like balls, mouse toys and stuffed toys. She enjoys being petted. Her favorite cat food is friskies. She enjoys sleeping at night in her cat bed.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Friendly- allows all handling
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 10/25/17 Lying in litter box with a low, tense body. Face is tense and ears are tilted. Makes eye contact. She tolerates petting along her head and body while hissing and turning her head to watch my hand, ears flat. Rapid breathing. Needs more time to adjust.
Cage Condition:: Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor:: Tiger Bell remains calma and was lying down on her blanket with her tail wrapped around her body.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Tiger Bell slow blinks and doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Tiger Bell curls up tight and shrinks her body.
Reaction to touch:: Tiger Bell tenses up and looks away when the assessor extends his hand out. She leans away and tolerates gentle petting on her head as long as you go slowly. She seems uncomfortable, her ears bend slightly and she starts to grumble when touched along her back. After a few minutes of attention she relaxes a bit then leans forward allowing rubs on her neck and cheek.
