THEO – A1091083
Gone - 9-28-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 09/28/16*** THEO IS A BIG GUY….A LITTLE OVER 22 POUNDS! BUT THAT JUST MEANS THERES MORE OF HIM TO LOVE! He’s being surrounded because of no time for him. These owners took 9 year old THEO in after the owner had died…No disrespect, but one could guess that THEO’S original owner is turning in his grave after seeing his poor cat, now St the hands of a HIGH KILL SHELTER! He’s already NEUTERED and has reported to have urinated outside the litter box, specifically the bathtub. But with no vet confirmation, this could likely be a URI. Offer to take in this sweet guy…he’s a bundle of love and just looking for someone to love him!

09/24/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/24/16 16:11 Basic Info Theo was brought into the ACC because his owner no longer had time to take care of him. This owner received Theo when Theo’s original owner died. He is a 9 year old tabby. Socialization Theo was reported to be friendly around strangers. He will let people pet him but might not always come right up to them. He lived with a 13 year old. Client stated that this is the only person in the house that he would allow to pick him up. Theo doesn’t do much playing by himself or with humans. He lived with a female cat. He generally tolerated her, but they would occassionaly (once every few weeks) hiss and swat at each other. He lived with a female lab/border collie mix. Theo would swat at the dog when the dog would run at him. Behavior Theo was reported by owner to pee outside of the litter box (specifically in the bathtub) 3-4 times a week. Theo might hiss if you try to hold him. He will struggle being put into a carrier but ultimately allow it. For a New Family to Know Theo was reported to have a low activity level. He mostly lays in his favorite spots all day. He is used to eating wet food. He has an uncovered litter box and clumping litter. He is not used to having a scratching post. Behavior During Intake Theo was drooling in his carrier with eyes wide, looking all over the room. He walked out of his carrier and allowed for collaring.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Theo’s former owner reported him to be friendly around strangers. Reaction to assessor: Theo looks tense, hiding in the den when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Theo remains in place, alert wit eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Theo began to hiss and growl, but when touched he stiffen up and continued to growl at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Theo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
