Theo has never had any health issues or injuries. Socialization Theo is a very nice cat that interacts with any and everyone around him. Theo is very friendly towards stranger that approaches him or the home. When a stranger approaches he will slowly walk up to them and run himself on them. Theo is also respectful around children. The client did suggest that Theo would be best in a home with kids two years old and up, only because when kids play a bit rough with him Theo runs away to find. Theo also has experience with cats. When Theo plays with other cat he can be a bit rough but in a playful sense. Behavior Theo has no pervious bite history with anyone or animal. 02/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Theo is a very nice cat that interacts with any and everyone around him. Theo is very friendly towards stranger that approaches him or the home. When a stranger approaches he will slowly walk up to them and run himself on them. Theo is also respectful around children. When kids are around Theo he will play gently with them. When kids play a bit rough with him Theo runs away. Theo also has experience with cats. When Theo plays with other cat he can be a bit rough but in a playful sense. Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Theo and at the time he was curled up in the litter box. Theo had a tense body but leans in for attention. Theo ears were perked up with his tail tucked under his body. Reaction to assessor: Theo does not come to front but looks at you calmly When spoken quietly: Theo does not come to front but looks at you calmly Reaction to door cage opening: Theo remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Theo seems indifferent to my presence and touch Try picking cat up: Theo is tolerant of this type of handling. Theo’s previous owner reports that he was eliminating outside the litterbox but we are unaware of what, if any, modification steps were taken to try and address this behavior. We cannot be sure whether this behavior will continue in a different home environment, but we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litterbox should this behavior continue in a home environment. We also recommend that Theo be provided with numerous litterboxes throughout the house as he adjusts to his new living space. The extra boxes can be removed as he learns the space and successfully defecates in his main litterbox. Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Theo was displaying mellow behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Theo is displaying behavior appropriate for experienced cat parents.
