04/13/17 17:57 Tempura was found inside a building’s lobby. Police brought Tempura in to our care centers inside a carrier. During intake Tempura ears were erected and tail was tucked. Tempura was resting on her belly and tolerated petting and allowed collaring.

KNOWN HISTORY: Tempura was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was found inside the lobby of the finder’s building. Her ears were erect and her tail was tucked during intake. She tolerated petting and allowed handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Very sweet, rubbing against hand, purring, but resisted abdomen palpation EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Tempura was crouched over by the back, but looks at the assessor with almond-shaped eyes. Reaction when softly spoken to: Tempura’s ears tilt sideways and she makes eye contact, but she blinks and looks away. Reaction to cage door opening: Tempura remains calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Tempura sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts petting, pushing her head up against the assessor’s hand. She lifts her rear when stroked along her back and begins to purr, leaning in for cheek rubs. Reaction to being picked up: Tempura remains calm and allows handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Please note that this cat has a severe medical condition and is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. In spite of her condition, Tempura interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
