Behavior::
KNOWN HISTORY:
Tammy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:
Calm
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: Cage is neat
Reaction to assessor: Tammy was lying down completely flat at the back of the kennel.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Tammy focuses on the assessor, her ears rotate and she lip licks when spoken to softly.
Reaction to cage door opening: Tammy remains tense & motionless.
Reaction to touch: Tammy sniffs the assessor’s hand, squints then leans away from attention. She seems unsure but tolerates soft, gentle pets along her body. She slow blinks and eventually tilts her head allowing cheeks rubs and petting on her head.
Reaction to being picked up: Tammy was a bit tense when picked up, then got antsy and leaped away. She stayed at the front of the cage, brushed up against the assessor and gave head butts when rubbed.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back
VOCAL: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: Timid
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Experienced cat parent – Tammy may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
Enrichment::
07/19/17:
Lying towards back of kennel with a low, tense body. She tolerates petting along her head and body while flattening her ears and wrapping her tail around herself, face tensed. Needs more time to adjust. Sprayed feliway.
