***SAFE 06/23/16*** PERFECTLY HEALTHY TAFFY IS A PLAYFUL AND AFFECTIONATE KITTY WHO WAS FOUND ABANDONED IN AN APARTMENT – NOW SHE WILL DIE BECAUSE OF HER FEAR IN THE SHELTER!! How unfair!!! TAFFY’s ex – owners – aka LOSERS – moved and abandoned this 1 year old adorable kitten in an apartment. Someone found her and fed her and played with her but when they introduced TAFFY to their other cat- TAFFY did not immediately get along – so it was off to the ACC!! TAFFY’s behavior prior to being incarcerated at this kill facility was wonderful. She was friendly, affectionate, and playful. As you see, the ACC has slapped her with a New Hope Only rating because after being abandoned TWICE – she is freaked out and very upset. CAN YOU BLAME HER?? TAFFY probably thought her finder would be her keeper. Not the case. NOW TAFFY NEEDS A TRUE RESCUE ANGEL WHO WILL PROMISE TO KEEP HER AND LOVE HER UNTIL……IF THAT IS YOU – HURRY AND CONTACT A RESCUE GROUP TO PULL HER TO SAFETY!!

06/21/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Taffy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Taffy was hiding underneath her blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Taffy’s ears bend flat and slowly inches away. Reaction to cage door opening: Taffy starts hissing. Reaction to touch: Taffy raises her body up, hisses then attempts to bite as you approach. She currently doesn’t allow any handling. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Taffy is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to bite and is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
