This Tortie mix had lived in her former home for all of her 15 years on earth. Suddenly, she finds herself in a cage at the ACC. TABOO is having a hard time, missing both her owner and her home….she’s not eating and that’s not good. She needs rescue and she needs it NOW!! 06/09/16 22:02 Tabbo is a 14 year old Dilute Tortie. She was given to owner as a gift and has been in their care since a kitten. She is being surrendered into the center due to owner’s health. There are no known health injuries or problems. Around strangers she is friendly; and doesn’t interact with play. There is no experience of her being with children, other cats or dogs. There is no known history of her biting another animal or person. Behavior is good and during car rides she is relaxed. There is no known history of her having litter box accidents. She has been given baths with a wet towel only and isn’t bothered. She has never had her nails trimmed and only when a kitten has her coat been brushed. She struggles when being picked up and held and isn’t bothered when being placed in a carrier. Taboo is described as being friendly with a low activity level. When home she rarely seeks attention and was mostly kept indoors. She slept anywhere comfortable and was free feed dry Purina cat food. She is litter box trained using an uncovered box with crystal litter. She doesn’t scratch on post or furniture.

As per previous owner, Around strangers she is friendly but doesn’t interact with play. She no experience around children, other cats or dogs. Taboo is described as being friendly with a low activity level. Reaction to assessor: Taboo was sleeping in the litterbox When spoken quietly: Taboo continues to sleep in the litterbox Reaction to door cage opening: Taboo wakes up and starts to stress meow Reaction to touch: Taboo allows petting and attention Try picking cat up: Taboo is tense but tolerant of this type of handling. Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Taboo was displaying nervous behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel, stress meows, but interacts with the Assessor, allows attention and tolerates all petting. Taboo is displaying behavior appropriate for experienced cat parents.
