***SAFE 06/23/16*** TABASCO WAS TRAPPED AND DEPOSITED AT THE ACC – HE IS FIV POSITIVE AND IN NEED OF A MIRACLE TONIGHT!! TABASCO is not a happy camper at the shelter and we just can’t imagine why. He was punished with a New Hope only rating and to make things worse, he tested positive for FIV. FIV cats can live with non- FIV cats. TABASCO came in with small wounds all over his body but nothing was said to explain where they might have come from. TABASCO is only 3 years old and desperately needs someone with some “cat whispering” powers to save him from what awaits him Wednesday afternoon. IF YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE AND COMMITMENT TO HELP TABASCO, EMAIL OUR HELP DESK AT [email protected] FOR RESCUE CONTACT INFO NOW!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Tabasco was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Tabasco was hiding inside his feral den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Tabasco has eyes wide and focused on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Tabasco remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Tabasco strikes and charges at the assessor as soon as he enters the kennel. His ears bend flat, and he currently doesn’t allow any handling. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Tabasco is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to bite, swat and is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
