SYLVIA PLATH – A1073929

***SAFE 05/23/16*** CALICO CUTIE KNOWS WHAT SHE LIKES, and what she likes is attention, on her terms. This gorgeous 6-year-old girl was taken to the shelter with an “attack people” intake notation, but her shelter notes show a cat who got along with the ACC staff well enough to earn an EXPNOCHILD rating on her behavioral evaluation. Whoever named this cat must be proud of themselves for knowing the name of a famous poetess, but that moment of self-congratulatory creativity is NOT going to prevent the ACC from killing this cat, tomorrow. Only a FOSTER/ADOPTER has that particular superpower, so please share SYLVIA PLATH far and wide to be sure someone steps up for her tonight!

05/21/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Sylvia Plath and at the time she was at the front. Sylvia Plath sniffs hand then lightly head butts. She rolls over on her side demanding of attention. Her eyes widen and swats as I pull my hand away. Sylvia continues to seek attention. Reaction to assessor: Sylvia Plath does not come to front but looks at you curiously When spoken quietly: Sylvia Plath does not come to front but looks at you curiously Reaction to door cage opening:Sylvia Plath remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Sylvia Plath allows petting but is easily overstimulated and swats. Try picking cat up: Sylvia is tolerant of this type of handling. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Sylvia Plath was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing in the care center. At the time of the assessment she was displaying seemly friendly behavior. She did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the assessor. She appreciates attention for a limited time before becoming overstimulated and swatting. Sylvia allows all handling. Sylvia is displaying behavior appropriate for experienced cat parents with no children.
