DVM Intake Exam
Estimated age: 6 weeks
Microchip noted on Intake? No.
History : Injured kitten – finder saw her hit by a car.
Subjective:
Observed Behavior – Friendly and calm, allows all handling.
Evidence of Cruelty seen – No.
Evidence of Trauma seen – yes.
Objective: BARH. mm=pink, moist, CRT<2 s. HR=220, RR=28. BCS=4/9.
ORAL: All deciduous teeth erupted.
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted.
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, no dyspnea.
ABD: Non painful, no masses/organomegaly palpated.
U/G: Female, not spayed.
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, bilateral hind limb lameness and tens to walk with hind limbs spalyed.. No palpable fractures or luxations. Skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
A: Approx. 6 week old kitten with hind limb lameness after hit by car. Stable condition.
P: House in medical.
Buprenorphine 0.3 mg/ml. 0.05 ml SQ BID x 3 days (longer if indicated).
Scheduled for radiographs.
Good prognosis.
