**SAFE 05/28/16*** CALLING ALL NEW HOPE RESCUE ANGELS! Are you looking for a new SWEETHEART in your life? This little lady was brought into the shelter as a stray. She’s just a baby at a year old, and she’s terrified. Sweetheart needs an angel to swoop in and save her from the monsters at the ACC, who want to KILL HER AT NOON TOMORROW FOR HER FEAR! She allows some petting, but quickly figures out that these people do NOT have her best interest at heart and becomes agitated. She is stressed out in the shelter environment, and needs an opportunity to decompress in a relaxed home environment. Cats like Sweetheart often shine after being shown a bit of patience and a loving hand- neither of which the ACC are willing to offer her. This baby girl needs a NEW HOPE RESCUE to pull her to safety! If you’d like to offer to ADOPT/FOSTER her, please contact the Help Desk at [email protected]. She only has hours left in her young life unless someone steps up for her. ACT NOW!

05/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Sweetheart does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Sweetheart does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Sweetheart becomes stiff, alert Reaction to touch: Sweetheart growls and does not allow much petting before becoming agitated and striking Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick up Sweetheart due to fractious behavior Behavior Determination: NewHope Sweetheart was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. Sweetheart seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Sweetheart may require further investigation before placement in a home. She currently does not tolerate much petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
