Jollyrancher has some medical issues – Geriatric, hyperthyroid, mild elevations in liver enzymes, inflammatory leukogram likely due to dental disease. KNOWN HISTORY: Sweet Tarts was brought into our care center as a stray so we have no previous history available. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Allowed all handling, struggled with light restraint but no swatting or growling ENRICHMENT NOTES: Resting near the front of the cage. She slowly lifted her head up and made eye contact when I called her name. Sweet old gal. Accepts petting on her cheeks, closes her eyes. Allows all handling. Kept the interaction short. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Sweet Tarts is at front of kennel head-butt kennel door as the assessor approaches. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sweet Tarts head-butts the kennel door and vocalizes when spoken to, eyes soft and ears forward. Reaction to cage door opening: Sweet Tarts vocalizes and reaches out towards the assessor with soft paws as the cage door opens. Reaction to touch: Sweet Tarts allows petting along her head and body while leaning in and purring. Tail is raised and quivering. Reaction to being picked up: Sweet Tarts remains calm as the assessor picks her up and holds her. She continues to purr. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Affectionate, Social, Sweet BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Sweet Tarts interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
