06/05/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
06/05/17 15:04 Basic information: Suge is a 10 month old domestic short hair. He was given to his previous owner by a friend. He was surrendered because when he plays he is rough. He has not been to a vet but has no known injuries or health problems. Socialization: Around strangers Suge is friendly but plays very rough with adults. He lived with a 6 year old and was affectionate but played very rough with her as well. Behavior: Suge has bitten and scratched, they have drawn blood. The last time was 3 weeks ago. When picked up Suge is said to struggle and scratch with his back legs. When placed in a carrier he struggles and bites. For a New Family to Know: Suge is described as friendly, playful, confident and very talkative with a high activity level. When his previous owner was home he would tend to follow her around. He liked to play with balls and stuffed toys. At night he slept alone, in a human bed. He ate dry Friskies and his favorite treat was canned salmon. He is litter box trained and used a hooded litter box with clumping litter. He scratched on furniture made of carpet and fabric but was not provided with a scratching post. Behavior during intake: Suge head butt and allowed me to pet him, pick him up and collar him. He arched his back when his back was scratched. When taking pictures ran too long he flicked his tail but still allowed handling. He attempted to jump from the counter a few times. On one attempted he was able to reach the ground. He walked to my legs and rubbed his body against them. He allowed me to pick him up.

06/08/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Curious, Independent KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: adults and a 6 yr old Behavior toward strangers: friendly Behavior toward children: affectionate, but played very rough Litter box training: none Other notes: described as friendly, playful, confident and very talkative with a high activity level. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 6/6/17- Observed Behavior – growling, hissing; does not allow handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 6/6/17- Came to the front on approach, alert, meowing repeatedly. Hissed once, then played energetically with catnip toy and seemed to calm down. Lay down on bedding, soft eyes and body. Came to the front on second approach, reached out and gently patted assess-a-hand, no claws. Allowed touch while eating treats, then started to lean into pets when done. Seems likely to overstimulate easily. 6/7/17- Very agitated today. At the front, eyes dilated, yowling loudly. Yowling increased drastically in volume on approach, wound up screaming and lashing out between the bars. Possibly related to vocal, fractious cat in kennel above. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Suge remains lying down on his cage bedding during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Suge engages the front, tail thrashing, alert with normal shape eyes. Reaction to touch: Suge distance increases, sitting upright by the back, accepts a brief touch. He rolls over in place and began to playfully paw while his pupils dilate. He then quickly nips and continues to grip with both arms the assessor’s hand. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Suge solicits attention and tolerates petting, but may be assertively demanding of attention or may play roughly. Due to nips and pawing we feel that this cat will do best in an adult only home.
