03/26/17
Recheck exam, radiographs of pelvis/hind legs.
S/O: QARH. Shy, tense, allows gentle handling. mm=pink, moist, CRT<2 s.
EENT: No oculonasal discharge. Right pinna – tip missing. Left pinna – small notch missing along caudal edge at tip.
H/L: HR=220, RR=24. Lungs clear, no murmurs/arrhythmias.
ABD/UG: Tense, will not allow good palpation.
MS: Amb x 3, non-weight bearing right hind. Will not allow good palpation of right hind limb, seems painful. No palpable long bone fractures.
NEURO: No neurologic deficits. Pos. tail and anal tone, pos. withdrawal in both hind limbs.
INTEG: Full, clean haircoat, no skin lesions or open wounds.
A: Not paralyzed. Non-weight bearing and painful right hind limb – DDx: Pelvic fracture, hip injury/luxation, limb fracture.
P: Lat radiograph pelvis/hind limbs: Right hip craniodorsal luxation. No fractures visible.
Start Buprenorphine 0.3 mg/ml. 0.2 ml SQ BID x 5 days.
Good prognosis with appropriate management. Will need surgical treatment of luxation – either reduction and fixation, or FHO.

Subjective – Recumnt. Intact female cat
Observed Behavior – Anxious when hindlimbs get manipulated.
Evidence of Cruelty seen – None
Evidence of Trauma seen – Nione
Objective
T =Not taken P = 130 bpm R = 28bpm BCS 5/9
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam:No abnormalities
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: Intact female
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities.
Rectal: Not performed
